The concept of Driftingup.com is simple enough. Drifting from the ground up.
A while back an accident took my street car from me and after it was all said and done I was left with a clean shell on coilovers and a 4age swap sitting on the floor.
Well, like all corolla owners, I dreamed of having more power and since I just happened to already have the motor out of the car it would be a great time to look into swapping out the old 16 valve for something with a little more power.
Now after calling every motor importer on earth and not finding anything I liked My brother says “just go over to PSI, I bet they have enough stuff to put a motor together for you.”
So I went to Portland Speed Industries (PSI). for those of you that don’t know, Portland Speed Industries is in my opinion the best tuning, fabrication and design shop in the northwest, this is a place where you can build just about anything from the ground up under one roof. Everything from getting your alignment done to getting your Track Lambo tuned on Motec by John Reed. Here’s a cool video about them. https://vimeo.com/51653930
Well, I found the better part of what I needed and I made a cash offer on a large box full of engine parts, for a very nice price I walked away with most of what I needed to put together a built SR20det.
Now at the time I was just building a street car, but having followed Yaer Productions to a number of Formula D events and as most of my friends took on the challenge of competition I would not be able to ignore the call of the track. A laundry list of parts and a year later I’m nearing completion on the corolla. I have recently started a missile car project, an FC rx7, for local events and if all goes well you will see me out there at Pro-am next season.
So have a look around and find out about how I am going though building an Rx7 missile car on a budget, for practice at local events and my journey to Pro-am with the SR powered corolla
